Since the mid-1990’s, Grygera & Son’s has produced a number of surfboard labels at their Southern California factory, and has quickly earned a name for themselves for on-time delivery, superior craftsmanship and excellent customer service. Their clientele includes Rusty, Hobie, Infinity and Christianson. The factory was founded by shaper and designer, Jeff Grygera, who named the company after his sons.
NSSA surf champ, Jay Grygera, was quickly thrown into the laminating room. After high school he apprenticed at Grygera & Son’s, as well as other glassing factories. Jay is a world traveling surfer and one of many team test pilots. He is currently head of the laminating department.
Everyone on the Grygera & Son’s crew is a seasoned craftsman. The company’s growth has forced them to expand into a more efficient and larger facility. The demand for Iron Cross Surfboards in the short board range has expanded as well with the “mod fish” as one of its newest and proven designs for the past three years, as well as the traditional fish.
A few new models have been added due to customer response and requests. A line of Iron Cross hats, shirts, jackets, beanies, stickers, leashes and bags will soon be added to the company’s lists of must haves.
